Teachers Day 2019 : What and why???

On the day of 5th September Teachers day is celebrated in all over the country. On this day students pay their respect and love to their teachers in there own way. Some students give flowers to their teachers for respect, some give gifts to their teachers and etc.

Students believe that teachers give all their knowledge and experience to them, so it’s their responsibility to pay respect to them.

Why Teachers day is celebrated ?

Former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday is on 5th September. In his memory Teachers day is celebrated on 5th of September. Their also a small story behind it,  one day some of his student and friends told him that they want to celebrate his birthday. After hearing them he said that  “I would feel proud if my birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s Day instead of celebrating my birthday separately.” Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel Prize 27 times. In 1954, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna.   

 How it is celebrated ?

All the students celebrate this day with enthusiasm and pay respect to their teachers. In few schools student even throw a party for their teachers and to enjoy that day. Most common way to celebrate is to give flowers and cards to teachers.
